The candidate should meet the requirements of art. 109 of the Act on 27 July 2005 Law on Higher Education (Journal of Laws No. 164, item 1365, as amended) with subsequent introduced by the Act on 18 March 2011 for the Act on Higher Education, Acts on academic degrees and the academic titles, degrees and title in the Art (Journal of Laws No. 84, item 455), applicable from 1 October 2011.


A postdoctoral position for two years is available in the Marine Biology Research group at Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz. We seek highly qualified, enthusiastic candidate with good communication skills, experience in genetic, systematic and phylogenetics on marine crustaceans. Applicants must have excellent written and spoken English skills and be highly motivated to work in a team.


  • PhD in Biology or Genetic,
  • Advanced knowledge molecular biology, supported with set of publication in the field
  • Demonstrated ability in applying phylogenetic methods and ability to interpret the received data;
  • Advanced knowledge in crustacean systematics,
  • Programming skills in Python, R or other language.
  • Experience with Linux and high-performance computing environments.
  • Highly motivated for interdisciplinary research, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a research group.
  • fluent English
